The aim of the school is to give the children a thoroughly sound grounding in the essential subjects, with plenty of scope for the development of individuality by means of handicrafts, art, music and physical activities. We endeavour to teach them to be self-reliant and to enjoy their work for its own sake; there are no marks or positions in form but stars are awarded for work that is well done and consistently high standards are achieved by encouragement.
There are no unnecessary rules or restrictions but the children are expected to be obedient, well-mannered and considerate of the feelings of others.
Some boys leave us at the age of 8 to continue their education at a variety of local prep schools. Children take Common Entrance at both ordinary and scholarship level and the school has an excellent record of passes; at the same time we try to give the children a broad and comprehensive introduction to education in the wide sense and to prepare them in all directions for their future schooling.
